HDB HIP Projects
The HIP started in 2007 to fix issues like damaged concrete and leaking ceilings in older flats. Initially, it covered flats built up to 1986 that hadn’t had major upgrades. In August 2018, it was expanded to include flats built from 1987 to 1997.
The HIP has three parts: Essential, Optional, and EASE Improvements for Active Seniors. If your building agrees to the HIP, you’ll get Essential Improvements for health and safety. You can also choose to get Optional and EASE improvements. The cost of these improvements is partly paid for by the government for Singaporean households.
